What is an IEEE Certified Software Development Professional?
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers certifies engineers through its Computer Society to become Certified Software Development Professionals. Obtaining this certification requires all of the following:
- a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree
- a minimum of 9,000 hours of software engineering experience within specific knowledge areas
- passing of an examination demonstrating mastery of a Body of Knowledge
- continuing professional education, measured and relevant to the Body of Knowledge
