Two Lanterns 1998 Pics

Well, strictly speaking Two Lanterns didn't exist in 1998. This was my first year at Burning Man and Dwight and I had a blast, despite the incredibly bad weather (heavy rain in addition to winds!) and the fact that we were impossibly unprepared for the event. We didn't care.....

In those days, just before the burn on Saturday night, burners pulled that big rope you see to erect the man from his horizontal postion used to load the pyrotechnics during the day.

You call that a camp??? My car was only one month old - I left the windows down a bit to ease the heat and, of course, promptly had the car filled with dust while we were out and about (air conditioner smells of playa dust to this day!)
